About Us
Our Commitment to Excellence
Emerald Arbor Care started with a simple frustration: too many homeowners get a vague quote and a tree that didn’t need to come down in the first place. I wanted to do this differently, with real assessments and pricing you can actually follow. Every tree and every property is different, and treating each one that way, rather than running a script, is still how I approach every job across the Pacific Northwest.
Our Story
What began as one guy with a truck and a chainsaw has grown into a full-service tree care company serving Seattle, West Seattle, South Seattle, Ballard, Bellevue, Edmonds, Shoreline, Issaquah, Snohomish, Gig Harbor, SeaTac, Burien, Renton, Mercer Island, Mountlake Terrace, and the greater Puget Sound region.
Ten-plus years in, the standards haven’t changed: know the science, work safely, and tell people the truth about what their trees actually need. That’s how every job gets run, whether it’s a quick pruning visit or a multi-day removal.
Meet Your Arborist
Emerald Arbor Care is led by Zachary McCurry, an ISA Certified Arborist (Cert. #PN-10373A) with 10+ years of professional arboriculture experience across the Puget Sound. Before turning to tree care full-time, Zach spent several years working as a lineman, building a strong foundation in aerial rigging, utility clearance, and working safely at height around power lines, skills that carry directly into the technical tree work he performs today.
Zach grew up on a farm in the foothills of Appalachia, where the family heated with wood and felled trees by hand each year. That early relationship with trees, as both a resource and a responsibility, is what first drew him back to arboriculture, and it still shapes how he approaches every property Emerald Arbor Care serves.

What Sets Us Apart

Science-Backed Practices
Every recommendation is grounded in arboricultural science, not guesswork, whether that’s the timing of a pruning cut or a call on cabling instead of removal.

Safety First
Safety is never compromised. We plan for hazards before a saw ever starts: a written safety plan for every job, professional-grade rigging and PPE, and protocols that protect our crew, your property, and everyone walking by.

Honest Integrity
Being a certified arborist means something to me: honest assessments, fair estimates, and never talking you into work your trees don’t actually need.
Experience You Can Trust
Ten-plus years in the Pacific Northwest means I’ve climbed, cabled, or removed just about everything this climate throws at a tree, including windstorm damage, root rot, included-bark failures, and cedar decline in older western redcedars.
I keep my certification current and stay on top of new research, because arboriculture keeps evolving and ten-year-old information doesn’t cut it. If you and your trees aren’t happy with the work, I haven’t done my job.
